Client | Amanda Summons Creative

Here’s a fun fact for you - I was lucky enough to meet Amanda a few years ago, on the day she was proposed to (I actually photographed that special moment for her and her fiancé).

We became firm friends, bonding over our shared love of photography and all the things we have in common. She’s just one of those incredibly warm & kind people who makes you feel comfortable and at ease almost immediately - one of those essential people-skills that make her so excellent as a photographer.

But her website was really not showcasing her incredible personality or her work, and when she came to me and asked for help I was SO EXCITED to help bring her colourful brand to life.

Design Brief

ABOUT AMANDA

Amanda is an Aussie born, candid lifestyle photographer of your colourful faces, based in London, UK.

As a photographer of people, she lives for that moment when someone sees a photo of themselves (particularly women) and she can see the relief wash through them. She’s a woman on a mission, and passionate about helping her clients go from “OMG this is sooo awkward” to “OMG I actually look good!”

Amanda is also a graphic designer by trade, and she had all the brand elements ready to go - but she was really struggling with how to translate her brand guides into a functional and useable website.

That’s where I stepped in 😁

BRAND STYLE GUIDE

  • Amanda’s core values of colourful creativity, community, connection, and empowering others informed our strategy.

  • The brand colours, custom doodles and animated graphics should be worked in wherever possible, without becoming distracting or overwhelming.

  • The overall vibe Amanda wanted was bright colours, image driven, and a clean design.

  • Amanda wanted her readers to smile, and get a sense of the love & joy she has for photographing them.

This project was really comprehensive, Amanda had a huge portfolio that needed to be showcased on her website, including two creative projects - but once I got started it all came together so beautifully and I’m so, so proud of this website.

TaRGET AUDIENCE

Amanda’s target audience are women based in London, between the ages of 25-45 who love travelling, and live a creative and colourful life. Her favourite clients are the one who value food, experiences, are relationships orientated and who understand the power of photographs but the importance of existing in them too (even if they feel awkward about it).
